Iona University softball head coach Alyssa Tiumalu announced the appointment of Rita Jagodzinski as a part-time assistant coach for the 2023 season.
“It is an honor to join coach Tiumalu and coach Stephanie on their staff,” Jagodzinski said. “I’ve met the squad and cannot wait to prepare for the 2023 season. I’m excited and looking forward to a successful season with the Gaels!”
Jagodzinski joins the Maroon & Gold staff with a plethora of coaching experience under her belt. She has coached for over 20 years with various different travel programs in the Connecticut area. Jagodzinski has had stops at Darien High School and Trinity Catholic, as well as stints with the CT Rams Elite Travel and Stamford Babe Ruth Softball. Jagodzinski is also the program director of CT Jags Softball Travel. She enjoyed a ton of success with the Stamford Babe Ruth Softball 8U program, winning two Connecticut State Championships and the 2019 Babe Ruth World Series.
A graduate of Springfield College, Jagodzinski is also certified by the Connecticut State Department of Education.
